Two Layers of Protection
Our uniquely engineered dual density high impact EVA foam laminates give greater protection while minimizing foam thickness. The firmer outer layer of foam dissipates and absorbs more of the impact’s energy. Additionally, the softer inner layer provides cushioning while creating yet another barrier between you and the ground. The combination of the two results is a pad that will take a bigger impact and helps reduce the number of injuries you will suffer when you fall.
Extra Tough Tailbone Piece
All 3/8” and 1/2” thick pad short sets come with our 1/2” thick extra tough tailbone piece. This dual density laminate features a 1/8” thick outer layer of extra firm foam, making one incredibly tough pad.
Ergonomic Mobility and Comfort
We have engineered and crafted our padded shorts with the perfect spacing to provide a complete range of motion. The design minimizes the gaps between pads while providing maximum coverage. We pre-shape all of the 7 pads. This creates a contoured fit that keeps them right where you need them to be, while maintaining the cushioning you need to protect yourself.
Articulated Hip Protection System
The combined hip pad and upper leg pad allows total leg movement while covering a large area around the hip joint and the upper leg. The two pads interlock when falling with a straight leg to create one long pad. If you fall with a bent leg the lower pad wraps around the front of the hip pad creating an “L” shaped pad. Both configurations provide maximum coverage of the hip and upper leg area.
Heavy Duty Elastic
Our 1.5” wide jacquard elastic gives the stretch you want and the durability you need when you’re using Tortoise Pads. It will keep its shape and will retain its strength ride after ride.
Breathable Power Mesh Shorts
Tortoise Pads original padded shorts are made from a durable spandex power mesh outer fabric for strength and a finer power mesh liner for comfort. The mesh fabric provides great breathability while the spandex gives the stretch needed for comfortable movement.
